Joshua is a Registered Psychologist with the College of Alberta Psychologists. He has spent over a decade helping both adults and adolescents heal from the impacts of trauma as well as other mental health and behavioural issues in a residential treatment setting. Joshua recognizes that trauma influences each person in different ways and that there are multiple paths towards healing and wellness.
Joshua offers individual therapy for teenagers and adults. He has over 10 years experience in working with diverse clientele and addresses an individual’s concerns through utilizing an eclectic approach. Joshua believes that life is messy and he will work from a nonjudgmental stance to meet you where you are at, and through collaboration, will help elicit positive change and healing.
Joshua believes in tailoring the best treatment plan to meet your own unique needs by integrating techniques from various therapy approaches. He utilizes a trauma-informed, bio-psychosocial approach that holistically addresses a person’s ability to function at the highest level possible. This includes incorporating techniques from CBT, solution-focused, exposure, and mindfulness-based therapies. He is skilled in developing emotional awareness and building emotional regulation and distress tolerance skills.

Prior to counselling, Joshua worked in emergency services as both an EMT and Firefighter. Joshua enjoys stand-up comedy and believes that humor is an invaluable coping skill that can help get you through tough times. He loves to play and watch sports, enjoys reading, cooking, and is currently teaching himself how to play piano.
