Dr. Kaur’s areas of interest include trauma assessment and treatment, chronic pain/pain management, workplace issues, medication management, disability management, depression, anxiety, stress, worry, grief, loss and anger/aggression and other emotional and behavioural problems.
She believes that it is important to not only support her clients to manage their symptoms and address core issues, but also empower them to take charge of their own lives by committing to the therapeutic process and recognizing their strengths.
Dr. Kaur is trained in Prolonged Exposure Therapy and Cognitive Processing Therapy for PTSD, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and regularly engage mindfulness into my therapeutic practice. She has years of experience providing trauma-based counselling to first responders including veterans, police, firefighters and paramedics.
