With 4 years of clinical practice, she has extensive experience and training in concussion management and rehabilitation, chronic pain management, coping with chronic illness, and trauma-informed care. As an OT, she focuses on promoting day to day function using a holistic approach to care. Occupational Therapy considers the interplay between physical, cognitive and psychological symptoms of injury and Lauren collaborates actively with her clients to develop individualized treatment plans to help clients reach personal and meaningful goals. Within her unique scope of practice, Lauren gravitates towards working with individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, PTSD, stress, addictions, chronic pain, and women’s health-related concerns.
As an OT, Lauren specializes in the development of individualized treatment programs that support clients with reaching their functional goals in the areas of self-care, productivity and leisure. A detailed assessment on the physical, cognitive, affective and environmental factors associated with an injury or illness allows her to support her clients with developing targeted goals and tailored evidence-based intervention plans. Your unique goals drive the assessment and treatment process to ensure a client-centred approach to care.
Lauren is an empathetic and passionate therapist who believes that there is no cookie-cutter or “right way” to work through and overcome the challenges and stressors that are experienced throughout life. Lauren believes in the importance of trust, compassion, present-mindedness, and belonging in the therapeutic relationship and carries this forward through her clinical practice.
She uses an integrative, personalized, and holistic approach to therapy that includes Behavioural Activation, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Prolonged Exposure Therapy, Ergonomics, and Evidence-based Concussion and Chronic Pain Protocols.
