Maria is a registered psychologist with over a decade of experience helping young adults, adults, and couples overcome life's challenges. Maria takes a warm, trauma-informed approach in partnering with her clients, seeking to understand each individual's unique needs and story. Whether you're dealing with anxiety, depression, grief, relationships issues, or simply navigating a major life transition, Maria will meet you where you're at with compassion and care.
Maria creates a safe space for clients to process painful events and emotions at their own pace. Her person-centered perspective puts you at the center of your own growth and healing journey. Maria will listen without judgement, empower you to rediscover your strengths, and walk alongside you as you transform obstacles into opportunities for a fulfilling life.
Maria’s primary approaches used in practice are somatic-based: EMDR, Sensorimotor psychotherapy, and Internal Family Systems. She is certified in all of these approaches and has pursued advanced training in all of these modalities. She is also trained in working with CBT and DBT and incorporates all these approaches in a tailored manner for each individual client.
As somatic approaches are evidence-based and found to be the most effective when working with individuals who have experienced trauma, this is Maria’s preferred modality. Furthermore, her experience with DBT and attachment-based EMDR has been useful when working with couples. IFS has also been useful and effective working with all mood disorders due to the distancing quality that the techniques provide.

More About Maria
Maria is a new mother to her son Henry; however, she thinks it is important to mention that her first baby is her fur-baby, Marlowe, who is her 8-year old Aussie-doodle. She is a big reader of fantasy fiction and enjoys some guilty-pleasure reality television. Her friends and family are her world and her connection to them is of the utmost importance.
