As an occupational therapist, Megan specializes in supporting individuals as they return to work after an illness, injury, trauma, mental health concern and any other reason preventing them from resuming their lives.
She believes that everyone deserves a chance to reintegrate into their lives and work after a period of uncertainty, and she loves helping her clients achieve success through the use of occupational therapy techniques.
Book a 15 Minute consultationMegan received training in Prolonged Exposure Therapy in February 2021. PE facilitates her ability to support clients in working through trauma and complete what is called in vivo exposure therapy. This involves working with clients to visit locations which are associated or bring up distress in a gradual way to help work through trauma and increase their tolerance of being in these areas.
Megan has completed some training in ACT and continues to work to incorporate more of this in her practice, helping clients to identify their values, acknowledge their emotions, and work towards what they desire in life. This can be helpful with any client with challenges with their mental health, including but not limited to those who struggle with depression, anxiety, and/or trauma.
Megan has completed some training in CBT and makes use of it when appropriate with clients, including but not limited to those who struggle with depression, anxiety, and/or trauma. CBT involves increasing one’s awareness of their thinking patterns and biases, working to change some of these thoughts, and testing out new behaviours to link to these new ways of thinking.
