Trauma and PTSD

Kyle has spent his career focusing on helping people understand and recover from traumatic life experiences and the diverse challenges that accompany them. He focuses on evidence-based and personalized approaches to healing from traumatic experiences including abuse, motor-vehicle accidents, work incidents, first responder work, criminal activity, spiritual trauma, and more.


Grief and Loss

Through his personal experiences of grief and emphasis on trauma recovery, Kyle understands the complexity and uniqueness of grief and loss. He has spent over 10 years counselling and being present with those learning to cope with significant and traumatic losses.


Kyle recognizes the immense impact of sleep disturbances and the important role sleep plays in our lives. He is a certified CBT-Insomnia clinician and has spent 3 years helping individuals with trauma, chronic pain, head injuries, and more improve their ability to sleep.

Head Injuries or Pain

Kyle has received specialized training to help people manage pain and life challenges resulting from physical injuries, head injuries, and trauma resulting from workplace incidents, sports, or other accidents.

Stress and Burnout

Kyle helps educate and empower individuals to make the necessary changes by learning to cope with stress, set boundaries, incorporate a routine, prioritize self-care and prevent burnout.


Kyle is experienced working with individuals experiencing complex and codependent relationship dynamics that can cause excess stress, trauma, and difficulty prioritizing yourself.

Psychological Assessments

Kyle can provide formal psychological assessments for adults including mental health assessments, cognitive assessments, intelligence (IQ) assessments, executive functioning and attention assessments (such as for ADHD), adoption assessments, functional capacity and adaptive functioning assessments, resiliency or coping assessments, and more. Kyle is being supervised by Kara Irwin.

Kyle utilizes a client-centered and collaborative approach to therapy that focuses on understanding and supporting you as a unique individual. He is experienced with Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Adlerian Therapy, Gestalt Therapy, Existential Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT). He also incorporates mindfulness, somatic awareness, and relaxation skills.

More About Kyle

Kyle enjoys spending time with his partner and his Korean rescue dog, Milla. Outside of work, he likes to be involved with sports  such as volleyball and badminton, as well as cycling, running, and weightlifting. He also has a strong interest in video games, movies, and cooking.
