Book a 15 Minute consultationKatie has over 3 years of experience providing support to children, youth, and adults to overcome a variety of challenges including anxiety, depression, trauma, workplace issues, self-esteem, and relationship challenges.
Katie has worked with children in several different settings including group homes, schools, and health centres. Her experience has taught her that children benefit the most from a fun and engaging environment. Therefore, she uses plenty of game and craft based therapeutic approaches to help the child open and learn new ways to express themselves.
There is great importance in having the family involved in child counselling, and so she will often provide guardians with regular updates and occasionally even invite them to attend part of the
sessions.
She recognizes that counselling is not a ‘one size fits all’, and instead will meet each person where they are at. Katie will meet your needs by drawing from variety of empirically supported treatments such as Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) and narrative therapy.
