Alison specializes in working with various types of trauma including motor vehicle accidents, domestic violence, physical and sexual abuse, crime victims, first responders and grief. She is trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), an evidence-based treatment for trauma and other disorders.

Alison also works with individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, OCD (Obsessive Compulsive Disorder), stress, life transitions, ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder), social skills, panic attacks, emotional regulation, work stress, burnout, and relationship issues.

Approaches and Modalities

Alison has had experience using play therapy techniques where she uses art, games, toys and miniatures to help her young clients work through difficult emotions in a fun and interactive way.  She also uses CBT therapy, motivational interviewing and EMDR to help clients understand the connections between their thoughts, feelings and behaviours in order to gain self-awareness, process emotions, take meaningful action, and find greater satisfaction in life.
